Police are investigating the theft of 200 game birds from a field at Wellingore Heath.

The theft is believed to have occurred sometime overnight between Tuesday September 8 after 10pm and Wednesday September 9 at 11.42am, say police.

A Bracebridge Heath policing team spokesman said 100 pheasants and 100 partridges were taken from a locked pen in a maize field and made off in an unknown direction.
