A large quantity of diesel has been stolen from a number of lorries in a rural farm area in Billinghay, according to police.

PCSO Marcos Meneses of the Washingborough and Metheringham Neighbourhood Policing Team said the theft is believed to have occurred sometime overnight between 11pm last night (Wednesday) and 2.30am this morning (Thursday).

The thieves have also damaged the fuel caps in the process

If you have seen anything suspicious, any persons or vehicles in the area at the relevant times, or have any CCTV that may assist, call Lincolnshire Police on 101 and quote incident number 16 of 01/10/2015

PCSO Meneses said: “Due to this single incident we ask that you keep vigilant for any individuals that you don’t recognise roaming in your local farm areas who may be looking for vehicles to target and for you to report it at the time on 101 so that we can conduct relevant checks.
