Man beaten and robbed

A MAN has been badly beaten and mugged in an incident late on Thursday night.

Police are appealing for information about the incident which happened in Haverholme Park, near Sleaford at about 11.30pm on Thursday September 6.

A 27-year-old local man was walking alongside the river near the Haverholme Lock car park when he was set upon and assaulted by three men wearing balaclavas/hats and carrying baseball bats. The victim was subjected to a severe assault and sustained numerous serious injuries. The attackers then stole personal items from him.

The victim was treated at the scene by ambulance crew and then taken to Lincoln County Hospital. He is currently in a stable condition.

Police are appealing for anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity in the area at the time or who knows anything about the assault.
