A hot tub and spa business based in a village near Sleaford is offering a reward for the return of a trailer and tub stolen overnight by a gang of thieves.

Melissa Brady, company director of 1 Stop Spas of Billinghay said they are putting a hot tub up as a reward for information leading to the safe return of their property which was taken in a raid in the early hours of yesterday morning, (Thursday).

Mrs Brady said they were “gutted” by the theft of their 16ft Ivor Williams tilt bed trailer with header, foot and side boards (with reg plate XHO7 TUB) used for deliveries, valued at £4,500, along with a grey Jacuzzi spa, also worth £4,500.

They have narrowed the burglary down to a four hour period from midnight to 4am going by local witnesses, but she said: “The first I knew was yesterday morning when I drove in.

“It is a secure compound but they driven across a field at the back in a high-wheeled vehicle and cut through the fence. They have then used cutting equipment to burn off the wheel clamps and locks on the trailer then loaded the hot tub ont the trailer and driven out onto Mill Lane through the gates.”

Mrs Brady said they have spread the word on facebook and had a tremendous response, including one sighting of the trailer with tub on board heading north up the A1 at North Wetherby. She said: “Thank you to the people who have supported us on Facebook. It has been immense, with the community pulling together to help a local business.”

The company has been trading for ten years, the last four from their site on Mill Lane. She the theft has had a significant impact on their small firm as they will have to borrow a trailer for the next six weeks until a new one can be ordered.

Mrs Brady said; “It is gutting. It was a second hand hot tub which had already bought by a really lovely family from Boston who had got it for their foster children and was awaiting delivery. Hopefully we can find something else that they like.”

Call Lincolnshire Police on 101 referring to incident 105 of 2/7/15 with information regarding this theft.
