Police appeal over assault at Billinghay Fair

Police are appealing for information following an assault at Billinghay Fair in which a teenage boy suffered blows to the face and head and a suspected fractured cheekbone.

The incident took place on Saturday, October 11, at about 9pm, near to the dodgems.

Two groups of young men had an altercation which resulted in the victim, a 19-year-old local man, being injured after he was punched about the face and head, a spokesman for Lincolnshire Police said.

He is thought to have suffered a fractured cheekbone, he added.

Two men, aged 17 and 18, have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and subsequently released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Investigating officers would like to hear from anyone who was at the fair and who may have witnessed the altercation.
