Police are appealing for information after receiving a report of an attempted dog theft in Ruskington.

The offence is said to have taken place today (Friday, April 10) at the park in Elmtree Road at about 12.45pm.

A spokesman for Lincolnshire Police said two men in a white van reportedly approached a local woman walking a dog.

They spoke to the woman before attempting to pull the lead out of her hands. They were unsuccessful and the lady made her way home before calling police.

The spokesman said: “Investigating officers would like to hear from anyone who may have had a similar experience or anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or seen anyone acting suspiciously.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Lincolnshire Police on 101 quoting incident 215 of April 10.
