Third arrest in murder case

A third man has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of James Brodie.

The 34-year-old man was arrested in Nottingham today.
James Brodie, who was 19 at the time, is believed to have gone missing shortly after jeweller Marian Bates was shot dead during a robbery at the Time Centre, in Arnold, in September 2003.
He has not made any contact with family or friends in more than nine years.
Last week searches at Maize Farm, in East Heckington, resulted in a number of samples being sent off for further scientific tests.
Dean Betton, 32, of Raleigh Street, Radford, has been charged with James Brodie’s murder and appeared in court on Monday.
A 31-year-old man, who was also arrested on suspicion of his murder, was released on bail, pending further enquiries.
