The future of the Sleaford and District Neighbourhood Watch Association could be in question if more people do not come forward to support their work.
The association’s annual meeting in the Council Chamber at the North Kesteven District Council offices on Thursday, June 4 is being seen as a watershed moment for the group. If new volunteers willing to join the Neighbourhood Watch are not forthcoming a decision may be made to put the Sleaford branch on hold for a year.
Anyone interested in attending the meeting, which is scheduled to start at 7pm, is asked to confirm their intention to attend by 9am on Friday, May 29 by calling 01529 306383.
Lead co-ordinator David Simpson said: “If enough people have not declared their intention to attend by May 29 we will have no alternative but to cancel the meeting and suspend the district organisation.
“We cannot stress enough the importance of people’s presence to help decide the long term future of NHW in the area. We have a senior member of the police to outline their view of the way forward but we urgently need people’s views and opinions.”
