£30,000 revamp for young people’s unit

AN in-patient unit for young people near Sleaford has just undergone a £30,000 revamp.

Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, which runs the Ash Villa unit at Greylees, has just completed a 12-week, programme to modernise the facilities as well as those within the unit’s on-site school.

Ash Villa provides 24-hour in-patient care for young people aged between 12 and 18 with mental health needs.

Improvements that have been carried out as part of the refurbishment include the installation of new pipework, heating, flooring and complete redecoration throughout.

There are also new vanity units in all the bedrooms and the shower rooms have been modernised to wet rooms.

During the refurbishment work, the youngsters and staff moved temporarily to an alternative location in Lincoln.

Ash Villa deputy ward manager, Trudi Dowson, said: “We are delighted with our ‘new’ unit and we’re sure that our young service users will be as impressed as we are by the transformation.

“The fresh and modern interior will further improve our service users’ experience while in resident with the unit.

“it will ensure they have the best possible experience while in our care remains our highest priority.”
