SENIOR citizens in Billinghay were invited into their village primary school to enjoy a cup of tea and a slice or two of cake.

Billinghay Primary School welcomed older members of the community to the school last Wednesday for a tea party as a follow on from their Caring Christmas event.

The guests were treated to a sing-song by the school’s choir and everyone joined in the National Anthem.

Afterwards the guests were treated to tea and cakes, made by the Friends of the School, with the Year Six pupils acting as waiters and waitresses.

Headteacher Richard Allen said: “It was a very successful afternoon and a lot of people were dressed for the occasion, with one gentleman wearing a Union Jack printed shirt.”
