Youngsters at a primary school in Sleaford had a ‘whipple-scrumptious’, ‘phizz-whizzing’ and ‘whoopsy wiffling’ time last week when they paid tribute to one of the most beloved figures in children’s literature.

Pupils at St Botolph’s CofE Primary School, in Quarrington, donned fancy dress inspired by the works of Roald Dahl on Friday, with this year being the 50th anniversary of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Proceeds from the event went to Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity, which helps seriously ill young people around the UK.
