Mrs Mary King's School in Martin triumphant maths challenge team

A team of Year Six pupils from Mrs Mary King's Primary School, in Martin, took first place in this year's Junior Mathematical Challenge competition at Branston Community Academy.

The foursome were among 14 teams from primary schools in the area competing in the annual event.

On the day, the youngsters had to work together to solve a series of challenging mathematical problems.

Senior teacher Julie Reid praised the quartet on their success. “They were a credit to our school,” she said. “I was proud of how well they worked together as a team.”
