Greetings from the Queen

CHILDREN at a village school have received a card from the Queen.

Billingborough Primary School’s reception class pupils have been learning all about the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and each child painted a picture of how they thought Her Majesty might look.

As part of their topic learning about the Royal Family, the class used Google to find the Queen’s address and then sent a letter to her, along with their paintings, to Buckingham Palace.

The class were thrilled when they receive a card from The Queen and a letter from her lady-in-waiting, thanking them for the paintings and letters.

The children took copies of the card and letter home to show family and friends.

The reception class children will continue their topic by finding out about the other countries in the Commonwealth and, as part of their studies, will make Jamaican ginger cake, Canadian buttermilk pancakes with maple syrup and banana bread from the Bahamas.
