Heckington’s school rated as ‘good’ by Ofsted
A village primary school is celebrating a big improvement in education standards, which was confirmed by its latest Ofsted report.
Heckington primary school has been rated as ‘good’, with their behaviour and health and safety measures being classed as ‘outstanding’ by the latest inspection.
Headteacher Lesley Tyreman expressed her delight.
“I am delighted that the hard work and commitment of all our staff has been recognised, and especially proud that the inspectors praised our children’s excellent behaviour and enthusiasm for learning,” she said.
The report praised the school for the pupils’ behaviour, describing them as having “exceptionally positive attitudes to learning” and that pupils and their carers have confidence in the safety of the school.
The children were described as making good progress because they are taught well in all year groups and exceed national expectations in English and maths, and the teaching system and management in school was also highly praised by Ofsted.
The report said that the school is led and managed well and that Mrs Tyreman has improved the quality of teaching, and consequently results have improved over the past three years.
