Pupils at St Botolph’s School have been studying ancient Greece for their main history topic this term and celebrated its completion with a Greek Day.

Year five classes were invited to dress up as ancient and mythical characters. Teacher Clare Elsom said they could dress as anything but a lot chose to come as Trojan soldiers, Gods and Goddesses.

She said: “We have learned a lot about Greek gods and other things and wanted to have a final day celebrating and having fun.”

Later they made clay pots, tasted Greek food, then invited parents in to show them what they had been doing. This included performing a dance inspired by Theseus and the Minotaur.
