IN last week’s Standard we included a report on a village primary school which had received an outstanding Ofsted report. Unfortunately, the report did not include the actual name of the school.

We apologise for this oversight and, as we feel that Billingborough Primary School deserves to get a full mention in recognition of its achievements we are reprinting the story, with the school’s name included!

STAFF and pupils at Billingborough Primary School were delighted the school has been recognised for maintaining high standards with an ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted report.

Headteacher Julie Harrison said: “Three years ago Ofsted graded our school as outstanding and we are highly delighted to have received this rating again. Not only have we maintained our outstanding record but also shown an improvement, as now the school has been graded as outstanding in all areas.”

She congratulated her staff for their professionalism and hard work and thanked governors and parents for their support, as well as the children for their positive attitudes and behaviour in school.

She added: “This rating could not have been achieved without the continued day-to-day hard work and commitment shown by all connected with the school.”

The inspector noted it was a happy and welcoming school where pupils felt safe and enjoyed their learning, while there was still a focus on raising standards and securing the best possible outcomes for every pupil. Children make exceptional progress and by the end of Key Stage 2 the school exceeds national figures for attainment and progress in maths and English.

Teaching is outstanding, with staff ensuring work is sharply focussed, but also fun.

The report added: “The headteacher’s vision of excellence is shared by all staff. Her efficient management and constant encouragement promote continuous improvement and support innovation.

“The school’s success in sustaining high achievement through rigorous self-evaluation, including effective performance management, demonstrates its excellent capacity for further improvement.”
