Paralympian returns to his old primary school
PARALYMPIC athlete Kieran Tscherniawsky returned to his former primary school to present pupils with Olmpic football tickets.
Kirkby la Thorpe Primary School is part of the Get Set network and received tickets for an Olympic football match at the City of Coventry Stadium today (Wednesday).
Junior children at the school were entered into a prize draw to win sets of tickets. and Kieran, who has been selected to compete for Great Britain at seated discuss aat the London 2012 Paralympic Games, presented the tickets at a special assembly last Tuesday.
Jacob Dickinson, 9, winner of a set of tickets, said: “I’m really happy to have got a set of tickets as it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity,”
Headteacher Katie Bartle added: “It’s fantastic that some of our pupils are getting the chance to watch the games and it was so lovely for a past pupil to present the tickets, even more so due to Kieran’s Paralympic achievements,”
