Welbourn pupils shine with Hairspray

Students at a Welbourn school sang and danced the night away with their classmates in a string of hugely-successful performances.

Sir William Robertson Academy pupils from all age groups staged the hit musical and movie adaptation of Hairspray in school last week, from Wednesday to Saturday with some stand-out performances.

Liz Healy from the school said: “They all did very well, there were a few nerves about but they were all excellent.”

Friday and Saturday’s performances were both sell-outs and the audiences were clapping and singing along to the musical numbers.
