Parent Teri Lowey said: "I moved here because of the small village environment. I am now considering selling up as the school was part of the reason we moved to Billinghay."
Vice principal Nicola Irvine said: "The staff at the Lafford are all upset at the thought of
closure. I am delighted so many people came to the meeting and we do appreciate the support."
Chairman of governors Derek Daniels said: "I was in tears at the end of the governors
meeting when the initial decision was made. Two generations of my family have been at this school and I have been a school governor for 14 years. I love this school and I am not afraid to admit that I cried my eyes out."
