Winning books revealed

The winners of this year’s Lincolnshire Young People’s Book Awards have been revealed.

The ‘Best Reads’ of 2012, as voted for by children across the county, are Linda Chapman with Loving Spirit from the 9 to 11 year-olds category and Tim Collins with Diary of a Wimpy Vampire from the 12 to 14 year-olds category.

The awards are designed to encourage children and young people to read and Coun Patricia Bradwell, Lincolnshire County Council’s executive member for Children’s Services, said: “The awards are a great way to encourage young people to take pleasure in reading and help them develop debating skills and an appreciation of stories.”
