An ice skating rink and the chance to meet Queen Elsa from Disney’s Frozen will be among the treats at a school fundraiser next month.

Digby CofE Primary School, in Church Street, Digby, hosts the Winter Wonderland event on Saturday, November 21.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will go towards helping the school buy new, interactive touch screen whiteboards for three of the four classes.

“They are very expensive items and so the school is working hard to raise as much as they can,” said headteacher Graham Boyall.

The event has been organised by The Friends of Digby School.

It will run from 11am to 5pm.

“Amazingly everyone will have the chance to go ice skating at Digby School! On the playground!” Mr Boyall added. “The Friends are actually hiring an ice skating rink for the day and they would like you to come along and join in.”

The event will also feature Santa’s Grotto, a hog roast, Christmas films to watch, an old fashioned sweet stall, a tombola, a raffle, the chance to meet a Minion (as well as Queen Elsa), and more.

The fundraiser follows a recently held a black tie dinner dance at Scopwick Village Hall.

Some £850 was raised at the event for the whiteboard cause. It was organised by Sally Spink, one of the school governors.
