Lay-by could become car park for ‘rec’

SLEAFORD Town Council is considering whether to turn a neglected lay-by outside the Boston Road Recreation Ground into a car park dedicated to users of the facility.

Services Committee chairman Gary Titmus said: “We are very concerned about the state of the lay-by and potential damage to cars or people.”

But he has suggested to councillors that rather than simply close off the lay-by, it could be more usefully upgraded to form suitable, designated parking for people using the recreation ground.

They are looking into the feasibility and costs including consulting with highways officers before coming to a decision..
