Learn more about district future plans

DROP-in sessions will be staged next week to help people to make sense of the long-term planning proposals that will shape the area over the next 20 years and beyond.

As part of the ongoing consultation on the Central Lincolnshire Core Strategy – which will set out the framework for planning policy across West Lindsey, Lincoln and North Kesteven – an open event is being held at The Source in Southgate, Sleaford from 9am to 6pm on Thursday, August 9, detailing proposals specific to the area.

Suggested policies for Sleaford include the identifying land for 4,500 more homes and 20 hectares of employment land, chiefly through extensions off London Road and between Holdingham and the A15 at the north west of the town. Each site has scope to include shops, services and community facilities, schools and road improvements.

The rest of North Kesteven will have to take its share of another 9,500 homes and 25 hectares of jobs to be spread across all of the rural areas of Central Lincolnshire and many broader policies affecting the area.

Consultation lasts until September 10, with documents available for viewing at the council offices, library and online at www.central-lincs.org.uk
