NKDC to charge for compost bins?

North Kesteven District Council has today (Friday) announced that it has plans to charge residents £25 per year for the use of green-waste bins after eight years of providing this service for free, saving £770,000 in their annual budget.

There will also be a £10 charge per additional bin. The plans will go before the executive committee on Tuesday, December 4.

What do you think about this? Would you be prepared to pay for your compost bin? Let us know by leaving your comments below or emailing rachel.grafton@jpress.co.uk or comment on facebook.com/thesleafordstandard or twitter.com/sleafordst
