Environmentally-conscious volunteers have worked together to carry out a second clean-up of a section of the River Slea.
The River Slea Cleanup Group was formed after Andy Greenwood put an appeal out on Facebook urging for something to be done about the river becoming clogged with rubbish.
Last month saw the first clean-up day and this month saw a second effort by a band of 15 locals focussed near the Riverside Precinct.
A build-up of rubbish meant the bridge under Southgate had become blocked.
After a few hours work, the river was flowing again, minus 20 bags of rubbish, branches and weed.
The group are seeking more volunteers to help do it more regularly.
