Farmer tries to tackle fire in combine harvester

Fire crews were called to another fire in a combine harvester on farmland near Sleaford yesterday (Tuesday).

The incident was reported around 1.26pm at Little Hale Drove where the fire started in the engine compartment of the harvester.

Crews from Sleaford and Donington attended and a farmer had used two dry powder extinguishers to try to put it out prior to the firefighters’ arrival.

They put out the flames, resulting in light damage to the engine compartment.
