Nostalgia - Sleaford Carnival capers with Interflora from 1991

It was carnival time in Sleaford back in July 1991. Trade and charity stands lined Boston Road recreation ground and there was a procession of floats from North Parade. Pictured is the Interflora team and their float.

An It’s A Game For A Knockout had hilarious and wet results, won by a team from the Iceland store, while Army Cadets stood in for the marching band.

The 10k race and fun run went ahead but the organisers, Sleaford Striders, said they would have to change the route for next year because the AAA would not sanction a route across a level crossing.

Are you in the picture above or were you aboard one of the other carnival floats?
