Firefighters attended a fire at a peanut roasting factory in Heckington in the early hours of yesterday morning (Wednesday July 8).

Crews from Sleaford and Billingborough were called out at 1.12am to the factory on Station Road, Heckington and tackled the fire using one main jet, wearing breathing apparatus, according to a Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue spokesman.

It is thought to have been caused by a fault in the manufacturing process.

The outside of a hopper was damaged by the fire, which spread via ducting to damage a hand wash station inside.
