Greylees enjoys a Christmas sing-song

Residents in Greylees enjoyed an afternoon full of Christmas merriment on Sunday, at a Christmas Carol event supported by homebuilder David Wilson Homes.

The event was organised by the Greylees Engagement Network (GEN), a group of volunteers who live in the village and work together to arrange local community events.

Despite the freezing temperatures, over 100 residents attended the event to sing along to carols, indulge in mince pies and keep warm with mulled wine and other refreshments.

David Wilson Homes also planted a Christmas tree at the centre of the development, for the community to treasure for the future. The tree will stay at the DeVessey Village development for generations of residents to enjoy for many Christmases to come.

Jan Ruston, Sales Director at David Wilson Homes North Midlands said: “We are thrilled that so many residents made use of the Christmas tree on Sunday to celebrate the festive season and we are keen to continue supporting residents at DeVessey village.

“We are committed to creating a close-knit community at the DeVessey Village development and will continue to encourage and support seasonal events like this which we are sure will help to strengthen the sense of community spirit here.”
