Businesses are invited to join in a national workplace fitness initiative called ‘Workplace Challenge’ in the New Year.

From January 5, a free eight week activity challenge will be launching across the county and will see workplaces and employees sign up to lead a more active lifestyle and maintain a healthier workforce.

Colleagues and workplaces will be able to compete to win points by taking part in sport and physical activity. The highest number of points will clinch Lincolnshire Sport’s title of the sportiest workplace and a day trip to Sherwood Forest Center Parcs.

The challenge measures activity completed through leaderboards online. Once registered, businesses and individuals will be able to see the progress they make in CO2 emissions saved, weight lost and the amount of activity hours logged. Register online at www.workplacechallenge.org.uk/lincolnshire. Over 60 prizes, including daily spot prizes range from cinema tickets to beauty hampers, cycle packs to hirebike hours and even to brand new bikes.

There are over 200 Lincolnshire businesses involved aiming to improve workforce health and create some healthy in house competition.

Amy Story at Lincolnshire Sport, said: “We hope people can use this new initiative as a fun, new and different New Year’s resolution, and this time get rewarded for their hard work.”
