Two Sleaford women have had their heads shaved for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The 50-year-old former schoolmates, Susan Garner and Sally Oliver, took the challenge after Sally successfully battled cancer and opted to do something in return for the charity’s good work. The head shave was held at Eclipse hair salon in Bristol Arcade last Saturday.
Sally said: “The head shave went very well. I must admit it’s a little drafty around the neck area. We have raised approximately £430.
“The hairdressers put on coffee and cakes and all the donations we also added to the Macmillan amount. I would also like to thank the Eclipse hair salon for helping us and also the Thomas Cook ladies for lending us some chairs for some spectators, as we didn’t expect to have a good turn out of people to come and watch us. It was an amazing afternoon.”
