People are brewing up for the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning around the country to raise vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support which takes place next week.
The main event takes place on the morning of September 25 when businesses, schools, groups and organisations will be baking cakes and stirring themselves to raise money over a cuppa to assist people facing cancer.
Last year’s event raised £25 million and this year organisers hope to make even more.
The Inner Wheel Club of Sleaford Kesteven has already got the ball rolling in this area. Club President Maureen Yarram held a coffee morning at her home and raised £270.
Miller’s Café Bar and Brasserie on Carre Street, Sleaford, will have cakes and coffee from 10-11.30am for Macmillan Cancer Support.
There will be coffee mornings in Leadenham Village Hall from 10.45am-12.15pm and at St Andrew’s Church, Potterhanworth, from 9-11am, and Greenfield Community Centre, off York Road, Sleaford, will host one from 10am-12noon.
Hannah Weston Smith will stage hers from 10am-12noon at her upholstery workshop at 36 Market Place, Folkingham (tel: 07734 819827).
Lindsey and Robert Town hill will be hosting a MacMillan Coffee Morning at Serendipity in Kelby, on Saturday September 26, from 10.30am-12noon (tel: 01529 230445 for any enquiries), while Headlines hair studio, on St Andrew’s Crescent, Leasingham, will also be holding one on the Saturday from 10am.
