Have your say on Grantham Hospital changes

People are being invited to have their say on long-term plans for the future of services in and around Grantham Hospital, as part of NHS Lincolnshire’s ninety day consultation.

The first public information event in Sleaford will be held at The Source at the Riverside Church on Thursday December 13 between 1pm and 5pm.

Dr Richard Gent, chairman of the South West Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group, said: “This is an exciting opportunity to make sure that services at this well-loved local hospital and surrounding area have a bright and strong future.

“As part of this consultation we are not only consulting on two proposals to change children’s and midwifery services, but we are also setting out a number of improvements we are making which Grantham Hospital will benefit and thrive from.”

Over the next few months the hospital will be making improvements including creating a 24-hour A&E Care Centre with top A&E consultants and Out-of-Hours doctors, as well as joining up with community teams to allow assessment, diagnosis and treatment for adult patients to take place outside the hospital.

There are also plans to offer more choice of outpatient services to allow patients less travellign for procedures.

Public views are also being sought on changes to Children’s Services, which will see two new dedicated children’s bays in the Grantham A&E Care Centre and to relocate the midwifery-led birthing unit next to an obstetric unit.
