Help for a warm and well winter
A government grant of £243,309 will help vulnerable people stay warmer, healthier and more positive this winter.
The money has been awarded to Lincolnshire County Council and its partners to run the successful Responders To Warmth scheme again this winter.
Last winter through the scheme, hundreds of people were given practical support such as handy-man services, insulation, heating repairs, emergency heaters, boiler replacements and draught-proofing. Advice on energy efficiency and how to prevent slips, trips and falls was also provided.
A council spokesman said: “This is such a worthwhile scheme. The people we helped last year said they felt healthier and more cared for and we will be using this funding to help in even more communities this year.
“Because this is a one-off grant, we will also be looking at how we can develop longer-term ways of minimising the effects of cold housing and fuel poverty in communities in the future.”

To be eligible for the services on offer you need to live in Lincolnshire, be on a combined household income of less than £23,500 and have combined savings of less than £10,000 and suffer with a chronic, acute or long term illness or disability.
