Saxophone sounds for charity

editorial image

Steve Freemantle, from Ruskington, will be performing solo on his saxophone at the Ruskington Co-operative store for a morning in aid of charity.

The ‘Sexyphone Solo’ takes place on Saturday December 1 between 9am and 12noon.

Steve, 57, has only been learning to read music and play the saxophone for 20 months, having never played any kind of musical instrument in his life before. Self-taught Steve freely admits to not being that good but he’s willing to give it a bash.

Shoppers at the Co-op will have the opportunity to place money in one of two buckets, one for him to play and one for him to stop playing. Steve says he is fairly confident that
he knows which of the two buckets will get the most donations!

Steve is chairman of the Bikers4Macmillan fundraising group and all money raised will go to the Macmillan Cancer Support Charity.
