A Sleaford school teacher bravely placed himself in the hands of willing students when he offered the chance to rip the hairs off his legs for charity.
Matt Clifford, who teaches art at Kesteven and Sleaford High School, offered the chance to wax his legs to the form which raised the most money towards his cause - Cancer Research UK. He said: “I am trying to raise at least £750 for the cause but would like to raise more.”
Matt said: “I have lost an aunty and uncle in the last two years and my father’s eldest brother has just been diagnosed with cancer, so it made me want to do something about it. I came up with the idea of leg hair removal as I know students enjoy inflicting pain on teachers.”
9LC raised £28 in pledges and held a bake sale on Friday to add more. They enjoyed yanking the hairs off to Mr Clifford’s shrieks. He added: “I had to use hair removal cream that night as they were so patchy and horrid.”
He is cycling the 100mile route of the Prudential London Ride on July 29 and is currently training to raise more money for the charity. His Just Giving page is: goo.gl/l7RLwS
He confessed: “I had a training ride straight after work and had to wear long leggings on the hottest evening of the year so far.”
