A Sleaford travel agents is calling on people to donate and help underprivileged local children to celebrate the festive season.

The town’s Lincolnshire Co-op Travel, in Southgate, is collecting new, unwrapped toys to fill up ‘Santa’s suitcase’.

It is one of 13 Lincolnshire Co-op Travel branches taking part in the goodwill drive, which will see the suitcase to a local good cause in time for the big day.

In Sleaford, donations will go to Home Start, a voluntary organisation which offers help to families with young children.

Lincolnshire Co-op’s travel group manager Wayne Dennett said: “It’s easy to forget at Christmas time that not everyone is as fortunate as us. We’re encouraging all our customers to support the appeal, and make sure children in the area have the Christmas that they deserve.”

Toys, of any size, can also be donated at branches in Grantham, Horncastle, Lincoln, Newark, Long Sutton, Spalding, Gainsborough, Grimsby, Louth, Market Rasen and Boston.
