The tutors from GO Dance of East Road did a six-hour non-stop hula hooping session, inviting donations to Macmillan Cancer Support. They started at 8.30am in the morning on September 30. Each tutor took a turn to do an hour, with organiser Jade Mountain doing two hours.

Jade said they have raised over £300 on completion of the marathon, explaining: “It was just to see what we could do slightly different from the normal Macmillan coffee mornings. We used to do hoop courses here and came up with the idea.”

Jade said they had dropped the hoop a couple of times and were a bit sore afterwards. The other tutors taking part were Harriet Spence, Elle Bowmar, Rachael Nel and Amy Guilliatt.
