The floral displays through the town were looking very colourful. The wild flowers at Lollycocks Field and in the old section of the Cemetery were particularly noted by the judges. They visited allotments, private gardens, The Alvey School gardens, Westgate Park Residential and community gardens as well as driving past a variety of our green and well-cared for spaces, includingThe Recreation Ground. Graham Sleaford and his team from the Town Council was particularly commended for their planting schemes and work around the town.

All aspects of the environment and sustainability are high on the judges’ agenda.
