Back in January 1990, young mothers in Leadenham held a peaceful protest over fears that a proposed bypass might NOT go ahead.
The safety conscious mums were concerned that arguments over which route the road would take might see the plans shelved altogether, meaning A17 traffic would continue to thunder through the village.
The women held a meeting and walked through the village with placards. Were you among them?
A public inquiry was hearing all sides of the argument surrounding four potential routes.
The mothers were in favour of the southern route around the village.
