Delight that Joel will get operation

EDITOR - I was delighted to see that young Joel James has reached the £40,000 target for his operation.

The efforts of his parents to raise the money have been phenomenal, and they are to be deeply congratulated for all their hard work fund-raising to reach this amount.

I was also impressed with how the community has pulled together to help this young lad make his dreams come true.

A lot of people complain about Sleaford and its lack of community spirit, but I think the fact that everyone seems to be either joining in events or holding their own to help Joel is wonderful, and a clear indication of how caring Sleaford people can be.

I wish Joel all the best for his upcoming operation.
