Free to shop where and how you want
EDITOR - I’m quite fed up of reading the tirades from our anti-capitalist town council and their friends. All we hear is development is wrong and Tesco is bad.
The majority of people that I know want to see Sleaford improve and are in favour of the regeneration scheme, including the Tesco Extra store. However they’re not so obsessed that they want to write letters about it every week.
No one is forced to shop at Tesco.
Those who are against it can continue to use other supermarkets or town centre shops. It’s a free choice.
If our local shops gave customers what they want then maybe they’d fare better, instead the majority offer poor quality products at high prices, so it’s no wonder the High Street is struggling.
The No to Tesco/development Brigade also fail to see that it’s not just supermarkets that town centre shops are competing against.
Internet shopping is huge and customers can get the products they want and easily find the lowest prices all from the comfort of home.
I suggest our town centre shops join that bandwagon, unless the town council are going to try and stop us from shopping on-line too?
