I would like to make a big apology to several local landlords who may have been offended by my last letter to The Standard editor. It was not my intention to upset generous and caring shop owners who are very understanding about difficulties on the high street. I should be more careful in future before I vent my feelings for all to see.
As my letter had been edited it rather put a different slant on my criticism.
In fact when I had a shop in town I had two different landlords who were more than generous to me and I was very grateful for their understanding.
I am grateful to the person who tackled me on my comments and for putting me right.
We are lucky in Sleaford to have generous people around who do a lot of good in the town and who do not shout about it.
Please accept my apologies if you have been upset by my comments.
