Appeal for witnesses after head-on crash between police car and Ford Focus - officer taken to hospital

Officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a crash involving a police car and a green Ford Focus.

The police car a white BMW 5 series estate was being driven on the A15 towards Bourne and the Ford Focus towards Sleaford. Two people from the Ford Focus were treated by an ambulance at the scene, and a third person, a police officer was taken to hospital as a precaution.

The road was closed for a time. It’s believed to have reopened but traffic is still busy in the area.

PS Adrian Grant, of the East Midlands Operational Support Service, said: “I appeal to anyone who saw either vehicle being driven on the A15 today around midday to give me a call. I would like to talk to anyone who also witnessed the collision or may have any information that will help me with my enquiry.”

Anyone who saw either vehicle or the collision is asked to contact Lincolnshire Police on the non-emergency number 101.
