Billingborough police station reopens

A VILLAGE police station is back in use after it closed three years ago.

Billingborough Police Station is being reinstated by the Billingborough and Bourne Neighbourhood Policing Team and will open every other Saturday, starting from February 6.

It will offer a chance for villagers to chat to PCSOs about neighbourhood concerns such as anti-social behaviour, speeding and security from 10am to noon. There will also be postcoding equipment there for anyone wanting to have their bikes security coded.

PCSO David Doe said: "As I cover Billingbrough and surrounding villages I am trying to encourage local residents to pop into the police station on Saturday mornings for a chat about local issues, concerns, or for local children to get their bikes post coded. I will also be providing crime prevention advice and leaflets.

"Hopefully we can listen to the public and find out what their needs are."

The police station, which is located on West Road, next to the fire station, closed three years ago when the rural task force moved out.
