BREAKING NEWS - 93-YEAR-OLD DIES IN RTC

An elderly man has died after a collision at Speedway Corner in Ruskington yesterday (Sunday).

Emergency services were called to the scene at about 1.40pm yesterday afternoon where a Toyota Corolla had been in collision with a Vauxhall Meriva.

The driver of the Toyota, a 93-year-old man from the Grantham area and his 77-year-old wife were taken to Queen’s Medical Centre at Nottingham, where the man later died. His wife remains in hospital with serious injuries.

No injuries were reported on the incident of the four local people who were in the Meriva.

The road remained closed until about 8.15pm whilst the damaged vehicles were recovered and police carried out their investigations.

Anyone who was in the area and saw either vehicle before the collision, or saw the incident itself, is asked to contact Lincolnshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 219 of December 2.
