BREAKING NEWS - A17 closed due to accident

THE A17 is closed from Holdingham roundabout to due to an accident at Swineshaed Bridge.

The incident happened at 1.20pm this afternoon (Thursday) following a collision between a Peugeot and a Mercedes HGV.

At least three people are understood to have been in the Peugeot and the air ambulance has attended and is taking one of the casualties to the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham.

The driver of the HGV is thought to be a man in his forties from Norfolk.

All traffic is being diverted at the A17/A15 Holdingham roundabout onto the A15 to Osbournby roundabout and onto the A52.

The A17 is also closed at Bicker Bar roundabout and at the junction with the A1121 at Boardsides, with traffic being diverted onto the A52.

The diversion is likely to remain in place until after rush hour.
