A 10-year-old local boy is in Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham receiving treatment for a head injury after being involved in a collision with a pick up truck.

The incident on Westbanks, Sleaford outside the premises of Ray Butler’s electrical contractors premises was reported by ambulance crews at about 3.45pm this afternoon.

The 10 year old William Alvey School boy was in collision with a blue Mitsubishi L200 pick up truck driven by a person from Dorrington.

The road was closed between Southgate and Castle Causeway for emergency services to work at the scene and the boy’s injuries were not thought to be ‘life threatening or life changing’. He was taken to the head injury unit at Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham as a precaution and admitted for monitoring overnight.

The road was re-opened again at 4.30pm.
