Come up with a name for youth cafe

Alternatives Pregnancy Advice Centre, the Sleaford based charity, is running a competition for people to name their new youth cafe.

The youth cafe is desigbned to allow young people from year 10 upwards to meet and relax, listen to music and play games in a safe environment as an alternative to the town’s youth club.

The person thinking of the winning name for the new venue at Clover House will get an iTunes voucher. Just enter via the Facebook Youth Cafe Sleaford page.

By giving it its own identity the volunteers running the scheme hope to avoid confusion and separate it from the pregnancy advice centre as it is a very different project. A team of art students are poised to turn the name into a special logo.

It is hoped to be open in the next two to three weeks.

Manager Angeline Hennessy-Thompson said the room is all ready and they have funding for the first few months’ rent and fundraising for more is ongoing. “I would like to get a local sponsor to come on board to make it more sustainable,” she said.
