Tickets are selling extremely well for the Sleaford Concert Band’s New Year’s Variety Concert.
It will be held at the new St George’s Academy Concert Hall on Saturday, January 11, at 7pm. This brand-new approach will bring together guest performers to provide a varied programme.
The concert will feature guest soloist Guy Garrett from the Good Guys Orchestra, Sarah Jayne, a 1940s-style vocalist who is also a musician at RAF Cranwell and the Heckington Singers.
Adding another dimension will be members of the Go Dance Studios.
In addition, watch out for a very unusual concert opener and three brand-new solo features. Director of music Jim McQuade has chosen three classic pieces to challenge the Concert Band. The Radetsky March will signal the finale to recreate the atmosphere of the Vienna Philharmonic’s celebrated New Year’s Day Concert in the Musikverein Vienna. The band will also play the Trisch Trasch Polka and the Blue Danube.
Tickets are on sale from the National Centre for Craft and Design, The Littlest Things Jewellery, the Solo Club or contact the band direct on 07513 489674. The band is looking for sponsors and to raise funds to purchase a new uniform to replace their very tired waistcoats.
